The voice of Kirari is provided by Kusumi Koharu of the pop group Morning Musume, who is making her debut as a voice actress, meaning that this cartoon idol is being portrayed by a real teen idol. Kusumi also sings the show's theme song, which has come out on CD. Kirari trading cards are also popular, and with the cards, you can enjoy mixing and matching Kirari's clothes, hairstyles, accessories, and makeup.

This anime is jointly produced by staff members in both Japan and South Korea, and the show is extremely popular in South Korea, too.
