Kirari makes it through an audition and gets to appear in a commercial. She also makes her debut as a singer, nervously getting up on stage to sing. Sometimes she is in competition with a rival girl. For example, when Kirari makes an appearance in a TV drama, she is harshly reprimanded by a senior actress. Kirari struggles to get better at the acting she is not used to while, of course, trying to keep up with her studies at school.

But Kirari is not alone; always by her side, encouraging her and helping her out, is her brilliant cat Na-san. Other important friends of Kirari are Hiwatari Seiji and Kazama Hiroto, two members of SHIPS who sometimes perform on stage or act in TV dramas with her, and other times compete against her. The characters in this anime also include Yukino Noeru and Hanasaki Kobeni, who become pop member with Kirari after her fame. These three girls make great effort to brush up their singing and acting ability by all means giving each other emotional support.
