Episode 1

No, he didn't. That couldn't be.

It had to be a bad dream, the world's worst nightmare, and it hadn't ended yet. But his sore cheek told his brain that this was definitely reality.

Nightmare or not, right now he had to get away, fast. Still on his backside, Tomoya started scrambling away with both arms and legs.

The suspicious person emerged from the closet and walked toward him, muttering angrily: she'd woke up early in the morning, couldn't get the door open, and no matter how much she pounded on it the occupant of the room paid no mind.

"You get your kicks locking girls up in small dark spaces?"

As she berated him, the suspicious person was bearing down on Tomoya, driving him to the back of the room. She was only a little over a meter tall, but her miniature frame held enough pent-up anger to explode. If she caught him there was no telling what might happen.

"Namu Amida Buddha Hallelujah!"

He backed into the shelves, cornered. If this were anime or manga, Tomoya would be Regular Guy No. 1, who quickly gets killed off at the beginning of the story.

The suspicious character shouted.

"Watch out behind you!"

"Huh?"

He turned, but the shelves were already tipping, and the figurines that had been lined up on them came raining down. Unable to get away, Tomoya could only watch in a daze as a cascade of figurines landed on him.

Then, as if his past were flashing before his eyes, the events of the previous day suddenly came back to him, and he knew who the suspicious person—suspicious figure—was. Chestnut hair, down to her waist. A pastel-pink sailor suit that would never pass for a uniform at any respectable school. Right arm missing from the elbow down.

He remembered it all. She was a capsule figure. He'd assembled her the day before.
