The second big animé movie in the spotlight these days is ‘Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, the Movie’

This is the first feature film version of a highly popular video game series starring an English archeologist sporting a silk top hat named Professor Layton, and his self-proclaimed ‘First Assistant,’ Luke. The two take on challenging cases requiring them to solve various puzzles. To date 8 million copies of the four games in the series have been shipped worldwide.

The movie presents the first adventure-filled journey undertaken by Professor Layton and Luke. It begins with Professor Layton’s receipt of a letter from a former student, the famous opera singer Jenis. She writes that a friend of hers who died a year earlier has reappeared as a 7-year-old girl endowed with ‘eternal life.’ To unravel this mystery, Professor Layton and Luke visit a theater during an opera performance. The story engages game fans with a rich store of new discoveries and surprises.
