The Shorinji Kempo headquarters is located on the same grounds as the school.
Students greet all teachers and visitors they meet with a cheerful "Good morning!" or "Good day!" and a gassho rei. An important part of daily practice for a kenshi is kyakka shoko, which literally means to examine the area around your feet. In other words, you should always examine yourself to be able to distinguish between your good and bad points. True to this teaching, all students neatly arrange their shoes when taking them off. They appear to have fully internalized the key principles of Shorinji Kempo and are upstanding young men and women.
Besides the high school, Zenrin Gakuen also encompasses specialized college-level programs for those seeking to gain a solid grounding in the fundamentals of Shorinji Kempo and become teachers and for those pursuing studies in English, information science, and business administration. There are also advanced courses for high-ranked kenshi to further refine their skills.
