'Poppets Town'

part1

The characters in this made-in-Japan picture book have been animated, and their story will be televised in over 100 countries

'Poppets Town'

The animated series, which was produced internationally in cooperation with DECODE Entertainment of Canada and Neptuno Films of Spain, comprises 52 episodes, each 11 minutes in length.

A group of picture book characters from Japan will soon be going out to meet the world. They are the inhabitants of 'Poppets Town,' an animated TV series based on a book created by the illustrator Jun Ichihara. The animation of 'Poppets Town' was originated by Sony Creative Products Inc. And preparations are now underway to release the series sequentially in more than 100 countries worldwide.

Broadcasting has already begun in Japan—on the Disney Channel on Japan's CS satellite and cable television broadcasting network. It has also begun in several countries overseas, including the United Kingdom and Australia.

'Poppets Town'

Although Japan is known globally for its high-quality animation, which has attracted intense international interest, this is very rare: for a Japanese picture book to be animated and broadcast overseas.
