From Nagoya Station, take a JR Shinkansen Hikari bullet train to Maibara, then a Shin Kaisoku train on JR's Tokaido San'yo Main Line to Omi Hachiman Station. Total travel time: 41 min.
From Kansai International Airport, take a JR Haruka Limited Express train to Kyoto, then a Shin Kaisoku train on JR's Tokaido San'yo Main Line to Omi Hachiman Station. Total travel time: 1 hour 45 min.
