Under the Ground Another View of Japan
There is a lot going on under the ground in Japan. The country has a large population, and not much land is available, so subterranean space has been used in many ways since the 1970s. Now, subway ridership is up to 10 million a day, underground streets have many shops, subterranean cables and pipes carry telecommunication signals and energy.... This issue, our feature articles go underground to give an "in-depth" view of Japan.
