Incense sticks
The incense, called Kirei-ko, contains wood vinegar made from Kishu binchotan charcoal smoke. Claimed to be a deodorizer, anti-bacterial agent and bactericide. (2)

Pillow containing binchotan charcoal
The charcoal deodorizes and absorbs perspiration, pampering the face and head.
It also generates negative ions, which are said to promote a good night's sleep. (1)
