Exploring Kyoto on Two Wheels

The buildings that you see on the streets of Kyoto are reminders of the city's history as Japan's ancient capital. A bicycle tour is a great way of enjoying Kyoto's unique atmosphere. Riding along with the breeze on your face is an exhilarating feeling. As you tour the streets you will see many shops selling traditional Japanese sweets and cookies.

Here we suggest a cycling route for taking in some of the city's many sights.

Time needed: About 2 hours (excluding time spent in the Kyoto International Manga Museum)
