Paper Doll Stickers the Latest Hit!
Until very recently the most popular stickers were ones with beads that make noise when they move. The latest trend now, however, is stickers designed in the shape of doll clothes.
Girls dress-up boy and girl sticker paper dolls in costume stickers that include dresses, suits, glasses, shoes, and necklaces, mixing and matching to create any number of outfits. Sticker paper dolls arrived in stores in 2010. Inspired by the paper dolls that were so popular among Japanese girls long ago, manufacturers adopted a newly developed adhesive that makes it possible to attach and peel off the sticker outfits any number of times to create new detachable costume stickers. Young girls look forward with excitement to the sticker versions of the latest fashion trends and seasonal items that arrive on store shelves each month.

These doll stickers have inspired a fun new type of game. Friends and family play together, placing sticker dolls in wedding chapels, campgrounds, or any number of backgrounds they create, dressing them up as they wish and creating stories around the characters. At times even mothers will join in the excitement of this storytelling play.
Adding favorite stickers to cards sent to friends for birthdays, Christmas and other special occasions has been common among young girls. For girls in Japan, stickers, in addition to being something to collect, have become a tool to communicate with friends.
