In 2003, while in their third year of middle school, the girls moved to Tokyo. They released CDs through an independent recording label and gave live street performances in Tokyo's Akihabara district, which is known as a center of Japanese pop culture. In 2005 they made their major-label debut with the song "Linear Motor Girl."
