Efforts are underway to use the oceans surrounding Japan to make the Earth's environment cleaner. To this end, researchers in Japan are working to build social systems that utilize carbon dioxide (CO2) effectively by generating energy and chemical and other resources from seaweed. A lot of people are working together to use seaweed as a resource - a goal that requires the combined abilities of people from all walks of life.
