From Nagoya Station, take a JR Shinkansen Nozomi bullet train to Kyoto, then a special express train on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line to Kintetsu Nara Station. Total travel time: 1 hour 11 min.
From Kansai International Airport, take a JR Haruka Limited Express train to Tennoji Station, then a Yamatoji Kaisoku train on JR's Kansai Main Line to JR Nara Station. Total travel time: 61 min.
