See the Expo and
Have Fun in Nagoya
Visitors to Expo 2005 in Aichi will want to see more than just the exposition. Aichi Prefecture is now one of Japan's most vibrant regions and there is plenty to see and do. You may wish to make Nagoya your base for exploring the region and experiencing some of its many attractions.

Getting to Nagoya
From Narita International Airport (Tokyo)
First go to Tokyo Station (by limousine bus or JR Narita Express train; about 80 min). To get to Nagoya Station from there, take a Nozomi train on the JR Tokaido Shinkansen Line (about 105 min), or an express bus (around 6 hours; there are 8 or 9 buses a day).

From Kansai International Airport (Osaka)
First take the Haruka special express train on the JR Kansai Kuko Line from the airport to Shin Osaka Station (approx. 50 min). Then board a Nozomi train on the JR Tokaido Shinkansen Line, and get off at Nagoya Station (approx. 55 min).

From Central Japan International Airport (Centrair)
Take a special express train traveling on the Meitetsu Kuko Line from the airport station to Meitetsu Shin-Nagoya Station (approx. 30 min).

Getting to Expo 2005
From Nagoya Station (3 options)
(1) Take a shuttle bus (direct service) from the Meitetsu Bus Center.
(2) Take the Higashiyama subway line to Fujigaoka Station (approx. 25 min), then change to the Tobu-kyuryo Line and get off at Banpaku Kaijo Station (an additional 15 min).
(3) Take the JR Chuo Line past Kanayama and Kozoji stations to Banpaku Yakusa Station on the Aichi Loop Line (approx. 50 min), then change to the Tobu-kyuryo Line and get off at Banpaku Kaijo Station (an additional 5 min). When going to the Seto Area, leave the transit system at Banpaku Yakusa Station.

From Central Japan International Airport (Centrair)
Take a Meitetsu Line train from the airport station to Kanayama Station (approx. 30 min). Then change to the JR rail system and follow the latter part of route (3) above.

Nagoya's transit system
