(11)   Megane-bashi ("Eyeglasses Bridge"), built in 1634, is Japan's oldest stone arch bridge. It was half destroyed in a disastrous flood in 1982, but later reconstructed to its former splendor.

(12)   The Nagasaki Kunchi Autumn Festival has been celebrated at Suwa Shrine every year for 370 years. It is held from October 7 to 9.

(13)   Shin Chuka-gai is as famous a Chinatown as the ones in Yokohama and Kobe. This small district and the tasty smells of cooking food attract many people.

(14)  (15) Urakami Church, destroyed by the 1945 atom bomb, was reconstructed in 1959. The church's Angelus Bell withstood the damage and can still be heard ringing beautifully in the Urakami district.

A bowl of champon served at Shikairo, a Chinese restaurant. It is said that the first owner of the restaurant came up with the recipe to give poor Chinese foreign students a chance to eat a cheap, nutritious meal.

(17) The Statue of Prayer for Peace commemorates the atomic bomb victims in Peace Park. It was built as an expression of hope for peace.
