The Jimbocho intersection of Yasukuni Avenue and Hakusan Street, viewed from the southeast. Most bookstores are on the south side of Yasukuni Avenue, which runs east-west, and on the west side of Hakusan Street. This orientation is favored because it prevents most of the strong rays of sun from shining into the stores and fading the books.
