Near Kageaki's house is a noh stage owned by his family. Wearing a kimono, he does a dance while his mother and sister watch. He moves forward while opening his fan as his father sings in a deep, resonating voice. Kageaki sings along, almost as loud as his father. "Not like that!" his father yells sharply. "Move straight." Kageaki's father tells him what he's doing wrong with his walk and his fan. His face is red from singing so loud and being under his father's critical gaze.

"There isn't a whole lot of a difference in how you teach a professional and an amateur student," Mr. Yamanaka says, "but I'm very strict with my son."
