What Makes G-Shock So Tough?

Board (Casio)

The board is the brains of the watch. To protect it from shock, cushioning material is used with each of the tiny parts.

Module (Casio)

The module is the watchs heart. To protect it from shock, it is suspended within a hollow and connected to the case at certain points.

Case (Casio)

The case encloses the module.

Rubber cushion (Casio)

The rubber cushion is needed for the hollow within the case.

Cover glass (Casio)

The windshield glass is lightweight and scratch resistant.

A Meiji era (1868-1912) caricature of the proud owner of a wristwatch. The drawing reflects the Japanese curiosity for things that are new.
