Among the companies offering capsule toys, the toy maker Bandai Co., Ltd. has achieved particularly notable success with the Gashapon line, which the company has been handling since the 1970s. More recently Bandai has reproduced that success with another hit product lineup, the Real Figure HG series. This series has been stimulating the recent new wave of interest in capsule toys. Bandai offers various other new series of capsule toys, including some involving popular cartoon and animated film characters. Product development approaches available only to a toy maker have increased the capsule toys' appeal in conjunction with Bandai's Kamen Rider ('masked rider') toys.
