Solar Panels for Preschools

part2

The fate of the bears in the story, and of all the other animals that live at the North Pole, lies in the hands of human beings. A charity called the Sorabear Foundation, which adopted the bear brothers as its symbol, was set up in the belief that people can make a difference. (Sora means "sky" in Japanese and also recalls the English word "solar.") The foundation organizes activities that encourage kids to think about the global environment and help to stop global warming.

One of the foundation's main activities is donating solar panels to preschools. Solar panels produce electricity without releasing the greenhouse gases that cause global warming. Using solar energy helps to combat global warming and protect the North Pole, where Big Bear and Little Bear live, and other vulnerable regions around the world.
