These erasers are, of course, great for erasing pencil markings. What's more, they don't stick to your hands like some erasers do. Omoshiro-keshigomu, which are also sold in the United States, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Recently they took the Gold Prize in the category of Cool Japan at the Visit Japan Campaign's Attractive Souvenirs of Japan Contest 2008. The contest is aimed to introduce the attractions of Japan to people overseas by means of Japanese souvenirs. The non-Japanese judges gave the erasers high marks, with one commenting, "They're affordable, and kids really love them."
