The story opens with a series of murders of musicians, all of whom once studied under a famous pianist. Conan, his childhood friend Ran, and their friends are invited to attend a concert marking the opening of a lavish music hall that was designed by the pianist.

On the day of the concert, Conan is attacked just before he enters the hall and is left unconscious. A big explosion occurs inside the building, but none of the 1,000 people attending the concert realize what has happened because the hall is soundproof. Conan wakes up and rushes into the building to find Ran. Will he get there in time to save everyone?
