The pigs have even gone international, finding fans in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and South Korea. In the Oriental zodiac, used in several Asian countries, each year is represented by one of 12 animals. When it's the Year of the Boar in Japan, it's the Year of the Pig in China and Korea. Monokuro Boo was especially favored in these countries in 2007, which was the Year of the Golden Pig, said to come only once every 60 years.
