Real "cool" place for trendy young people

Shibuya, in Tokyo, is a key transportation point where a number of subway and train stations are located. It is a lively neighborhood where young people like to congregate, with department stores, boutiques, movie theaters, large stores specializing in handicrafts, and shops offering fashionable interior items, and sundry goods.

It is especially popular among high school students, and things that are fashionable here frequently spread throughout Japan since they are almost always featured in television programs or magazines.

Shibuya Center is the name of the street in front of Shibuya station and it is the center of Shibuya.

IIt is not that large of a place, only about 10 meters wide (approximately 11 yards), including both the road and sidewalk, and only 100 meters long (approximately 110 yards), but it is known nationwide as the symbol of Shibuya.

A series of boutiques, restaurants, fast-food restaurants, shoe stores, accessory shops, and game centers that appeal to young people are located on both sides of the brick-paved road. All the stores are full of things that young people like-they are cheap, cool, delicious, cute-and it is fun just to go window shopping around here.
