National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation
Astronaut Mamoru Mohri is the director of this museum, which is being hailed as a new hotspot in Odaiba. Highlights include the Geo-Cosmos exhibit, a globe 6.5 meters in diameter whose surface is covered with the latest light-emitting diodes. The museum has 10 floors where visitors can experience cutting-edge science and technology.

International Library of Children's Literature
Located in Ueno, this is Japan's oldest national library expressly for children. The library is an expanded and renovated Meiji-era Western-style building, and all of its rooms have high ceilings that create a relaxed atmosphere for reading. There is a full selection of books from Japan and other countries.

Fukugawa Edo Museum
At this museum, visitors can feel as though they are freely wandering around the set of a samurai drama. On display are accurate reconstructions of shops from the Edo period. After exploring old Edo for a while, stop at beautiful nearby Kiyosumi Garden.

Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome
Step inside the door into another world where the temperature is a constant 23 degrees Celsius (73.4 degrees Fahrenheit). The source of the heat for the greenhouse is the Yumenoshima trash burning facility. About 100 types of insectivorous plants can be seen here.

Tokyo Waterworks Science Museum
This museum was established to commemorate the centennial of the modern water system. Spanning five floors of the building is the Ariake water supply facility, which provides water to Rainbow Town.

Transportation Museum
Fairly close to Akihabara Electric Town, this museum attracts visitors from around the world. The model railway panorama and the driving simulator are particularly popular among children. At the entrance, a Shinkansen (bullet train) and a steam locomotive are waiting to transport children to the exhibits.

Tokyo Port Wild Bird Park
This park, which was created on landfill in Tokyo Bay but makes use of natural features, has become a famous spot for bird-watching.
