| Tokyo's Akihabara
district is the area in Japan most famous for electric appliances. It is said
that any sort of electric or electronic product that exists anywhere can be found
here. In recent years, the area has changed a bit, as there are an increasing
number of shops focused on anime (Japanese animation).
However, plans call for a major overhaul of Akihabara to make it into a hub of
information technology in 2006, transforming this district into a "cybertown."
