Variation 1

Level: Medium

  1. 8

Carefully pull the corners out from the center of the figure, unfolding the paper on the back side as well, to create a large six-sided shape.

  2. 9

Fold the bottom edge up to meet the top edge. At the same time, carefully turn the sides inside out to form "wings" pointing down.

Here you have completed a hakama, a Japanese skirt worn on formal occasions.

  4. You can attach the hakama to the bottom of the robed servant.

  5. 11

Continue from here to make a camera. Fold the top half of the front side of the figure down.

  6. 12

Pull the corners marked A and B away from you so they come them together in the back of the figure.

  7. 13

Once the tips cross, fold them over one another so they clasp together.

  8. 14

Point the tips you just clasped together away from you and pull on the two ends of your camera. You should hear a nice "snap" sound, just like a real camera when you take a picture!
