DONA DONA Chan, comic strip featuring an eccentric heroine described as a "pitiful cat," has been a big hit on the Internet and was published in hard cover in April 2008. "DONA DONA Chan" is a weekly series that is released every Tuesday on "Circle Link", a community website for elementary and middle school children with about 300,000 members.

The main character is Dona Dona Chan, a timidly kitten who always wants to eat and keeps getting herself injured. Her trademark is a kind of hood that's worn to protect the head at times of disaster, but she wears hers all the time.
